P4 Wheels
Self quartering using a key in the wheel bore. An easy/glued fit on the axle (this will need a simple jig). The key ensures that the wheels will not slip out of gauge.
Modelled on specific prototypes. This means that drivers will incorporate balance weights and can incorporate variations (rivets on balance weights, extra webs etc.).
The back of the spokes are modeled so there is a prototypical ‘openness’ to the wheel.
The manufacturing process allows wheels to be offered which would be uneconomic to produce as mouldings, e.g .pre-grouping, industrials etc.
Wheels are sold in packs for a specific locos. Each pack contains where appropriate, loco and tender wheels, axles, crank pins and axle end covers.
Other designs can be added to the range on request, provided the necessary data can be obtained.
